      Code and Response Codeathon: Presented by IBM and CGI U

      The Idea Center at Miami Dade College is excited to welcome students from all South Florida colleges and universities on June 28-29 for a one-day codeathon presented by IBM and CGI University.  The Code and Response Codeathon aims to engage college students from all academic backgrounds and programs to develop tech solutions to address disaster response and recovery efforts around the world. Whether you have a STEM background and love to program software or are taking interdisciplinary courses that focuses on social change, entrepreneurship, or global affairs, this is a unique opportunity to brainstorm and prototype innovative ideas and turn them into action. Participants need only be 18 years or older to attend and no prior coding experience is necessary. This 24-hour codeathon will include meals and giveaways to all participants including IBM technological resources.  Winning teams will receive a $1,000 1st Place Cash Prize plus additional cash prizes available for 2nd and 3rd place winners. One student from the winning team will receive the Golden Ticket to participate in the next CGI University meeting in 2020.
