      Human Trafficking Symposium: From Slavery to Freedom

      From Slavery To Freedom Symposium January is Human Traffic Awareness Month and the From Slavery To Freedom Symposium  on January 15th aims to raise awareness of the growing problem of women being trafficked for sex. Human trafficking is happening across our country, including right here in our city. Florida ranks #3 in the nation for human trafficking with Miami ranking as the #1 city in the State.  During the symposium a panel of legal and medical experts will provide attendees information on the current state of the problem in our city and the legal situation surrounding human trafficking. The panel will also consist of survivors who will share their stories and share how we can work together to support survivors of human trafficking on their journey to restoration and recovery.  The event is free and open to the public.
